2.Įrgo, 2B's whole tormented existence (the never-ending spiral of killing and resetting 9S, who she loves, over and over again) is also about killing the descendent of the creator of YoRHa's "god." Meanwhile 2B, and A2 for that matter as well, are most likely a "descendent" of No. 9, who 9S is most likely a "descendent" of. "The Council of Humanity" on the moon and the whole YoRHa project was actually created by No. The "god" who blessed them with that existence is "The Council of Humanity" on the moon. YoRHa units are perpetually trapped in a never-ending spiral of life and death. Is this a curse? Or some kind of punishment? I often think about the god who blessed us with this cryptic puzzle.and wonder if we'll ever get the chance to kill him. We are perpetually trapped in a never-ending spiral of life and death. I mean, it's plain as day to see that is the case.Originally posted by Aemony:2B's quote is even better when you have read the concert script on the origin of YoRHa.Įverything that lives is designed to end. But come on man, just admit that the butt has helped this game out in a significant way. But then you say earlier you "definitely saw quite a few people talking about how the skirt was the issue".Ĭlearly you don't like people focusing on the butt from your posts, so I can see why you want to downplay it. You say things like "I'd say the "butt controversy has very little to do with the game's success.". You claim to have been interested in this game for "quite a while", but you also say you haven't been following it. that's just the reality of it.Īlso you make some strange comments. You really can't talk about NieR: Automata without hearing about her butt, or gifs or fanart being linked. So while I can understand you may not want to give credit to 2B and her tush for giving this game a noticeable sales bump, it's basically undeniable that is what happened. When we get Western sales numbers I bet that gap will be even higher. The first week sales in Japan were over 3 times higher than the first Nier, and that isn't even counting digital sales. I mean, sure there was a fanbase already there, but it was a very small one, and the sales have already surged past the original Nier and Drakengard games. I guess we really have no way of know for sure, but I'd be willing to bet a lot of money on me being right. That being said, the developer's response to this was definitely very satisfying. I don't that's true (speaking about the bit on her butt increasing sales), lol It's been like a breath of fresh air in the industry that's seemingly under constant attack with forced political correctness, and SJW's throwing tantrums over anything they don't like. 2B and her butt are responsible for a significant number of the sales for the game, and the developers have embraced the whole thing. Whatever it was, it's been nothing but good for the game. Originally posted by Seagal:This is how it started, and I don't think there really was any real controversy. Most of the people joking about it were already fans of the game, and most of the people complaining never intended to buy the game in the first place. I'd say the "butt controversy" has very little to do with the game's success. The series already had an existing fanbase, and many people were interested in the game for quite a while (as I was). This is how it started, and I don't think there really was any real controversy.
